Passionate Pursuit

Well, on a super exciting note, I have completed my literature review chapter for my dissertation! I cannot tell you how excited I am about this moment and how relieved I am to have submitted it to my chairperson yesterday. It was an ultra-tight turnaround so that I will work on the revisions for submissions 7 & 8 over the semester break. On another super exciting front, I completed all the courses for my program. I am now in the matriculation phase until my dissertation is completed. I could walk the stage for graduation now, but I am choosing to wait until my dissertation is completed. The worst part of the lit review was the results section for the clinical trials and APA formatting. The stress of writing the results paragraph for each clinical trial brought back the nausea I experienced while trying to learn multiplication tables. That’s a story for another day that created all the math trauma in my life. So, I gratefully completed my last three clinical trial reviews and look forward to the editing process over break and turning my completed dissertation over to the editor. It feels kinda bougie saying that, and exciting again because, well, that is when my chairperson and I call it wrapped up and send it to the rest of the chairpersons for approval.

Now it’s time for some creative writing! I have been poking at it here and there, but now I am full steam ahead while I am in my waiting period for my revision from my chairperson! Because why not bounce back and forth between creative and academic writing? Well, they can blend for sure. Two examples in academic writing, there is no " it’s, it is what is appropriate, while in creative writing, you don’t need citations, and yep, today I was stopping at the end of each citation to add one I did not need and slowing my rhythm down for a bit. Anyways, the short and sweet of it is never slow down, and chase each and every one of your dreams consistently and passionately.
