Residency

They asked her where she wanted to be

Homes were not safe, so she chose residency

Not the kind for doctors to be

She chose to see what most children do

Museum, parks, and places a new

She saw the sea, giraffes, and monkeys

Rode roller coasters and laughed triumphantly

Museums and art, lightened the dark

 Summertime slides and water parks

Home was not a safe place to be

But in residency, her world was carefree

In this time gain wisdom, did she

Someday, a doctor too would she be

Discernment made her the author of her destiny
